The 4th HandiFly International Challenge will be organized by Federação Portuguesa de Paraquedismo (F.P.Pq.), the Portuguese Federation of Parachuting in close colaboration with the Fédération Française de Parachutisme (F.F.P.).
Location of the Event
The 4th HandiFly International Challenge will be held at:
Skydive Portugal (DZ Operator)
Aeródromo Municipal de Évora
ER 254 - Estrada de Viana do Alentejo
GPS: 38º 32' 2" N 7º 53' 15.7" W
Defenition of participating Team: a participating Team is composed, at the most, by 1 Handicapped (disable) competitor, 1 Tandem transporter (Tandem Master), 1 cameraflyer and 1 Caretaker for this Handicapped (disable) competitor, with the maximum total of 4 people.
Note 1: the Organization has 7 Tandem transporters (Tandem Masters) and several cameraflyers available for participating Teams without these elements.
Note 2: the Organization of the 4th HandiFly International Challenge (20-24 Aug 2019) will only provide transportation to the participating Teams.
Note 3: The Official Delegation members are welcome but the Organization of the 4th HandiFly International Challenge (20-24 Aug 2019) is not responsible for them. Without any commitment, transportation may also be avalable for them.
Dates and schedule (Official Period)
Arrival: Tuesday the 20th.
Competition: from Wednesday the 21st to Friday the 23rd of August.
Competition daily schedule: from 6:00 hours (leaving the hotel) to 12:00 hours (return to the hotel).
(Expected very warm temperatures at this time of the year, mostly during the afternoon).
Prize giving ceremony and farewell dinner: Friday the 23rd of August at 19:30 hours.
Departure: Saturday the 24th.
Tranportation from Lisbon Ariport (to Évora)
According with all the arrivals of the participants:
- at 00:00 hours of the 20th of August, a bus equipped for hadicaped people;
- at 13:00 hours of the 20th of August, a bus equipped for hadicaped people;
- at 19:00 hours of the 20th of August, a bus equipped for hadicaped people.
(Travel time: about 1:40 hours).
Tranportation to Lisbon Ariport (from Évora)
Starting early morning of the 24th of August. All to be confirmed on the first day of the event.
Accommodation (in Évora, Portugal)
During the Official Period, all competitors will be accommodated at the Évora Olive Hotel.

Arrival and Departure

Lisbon International Airport (LIS), (designated arrival Airport).
Lisbon International Airport (LIS) is the portuguese airport with the most air traffic, also the main airport. There are lots of air travel options with lots of Airlines.
On the 20th of August, for the participating teams there will be a transport from this Airport to Évora.
On the 24th of August, for the participating teams there will be a transport from Évora to Lisbon Airport.
Any participant willing to choose other options, different from the above mentioned, may have more difficulties and/or longer way to travel.

Driving in Portugal
Driving in Portugal is very similar to any other european country. Cars normally have manual gear shift. The speed limits are: 50 km/h on urban areas, 90 km/h on country roads and 120 km/h on motorways (Auto-estradas).
Tips in restaurants
The check (bill) in portuguese restaurants always comes with the final price. It's not mandatory to give tips, however it will be appreciated. Usually the tip is no more than 10% or, in the case of a big group, about 1€ per person.
